Best time to travel

The best months for safaris and trekking in Tanzania are June to October, when daytime temperatures are pleasant and conditions are relatively dry. In July and August, you can also witness the great migrations in the northern Serengeti. Northern Tanzania is also well suited to travel from December to the end of February.

Tanzania lies in East Africa and borders the Indian Ocean as well as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. From Germany, Tanzania is best reached by direct flight to Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro, with a journey time of around 8 to 10 hours.
