Morocco
This North African country is a richly faceted destination: souks, green gorges, golden sand dunes and exuberantly warm-hearted people. Among its most celebrated places are the four imperial cities of Marrakech, Fez, Rabat and Meknes. As varied as its many ethnic groups are the landscapes of Morocco itself. From its many cities to natural wonders such as the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara, Morocco offers impressions that stay with you long after you leave.
Best time to travel
With at least 6 hours of sunshine a day, Morocco is a year-round destination in principle. Morocco’s climate is distinctly varied. The north and north-west of the country enjoy a Mediterranean climate, while the south, shaped by the Sahara, is more continental in character. The Atlas Mountains form the dividing line between these two zones. Looking at the country as a whole, spring and autumn are the ideal times to travel. Summer is properly warm, making it well suited to a beach holiday. For a purely cultural journey, however, the cooler shoulder season from December to February is also an appealing choice.
