Thailand
The “Land of Smiles” remains an exotic destination, enchanting visitors with colourful markets and gleaming palaces in Bangkok, idyllic beaches on Koh Samui, mystical rock formations on Koh Yao and the untouched charm of Ko Kut. Thailand also offers a wealth of culture and cuisine, while the extraordinary warmth of its people is legendary.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit Thailand varies by region, but overall the country offers appealing conditions throughout the year. In central and northern Thailand, such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai, the dry season from November to February is ideal. At this time, temperatures are pleasant and rainfall is minimal. For the south-west coast, with popular destinations such as Phuket and Krabi, the period from November to April is perfect, as sunny and dry weather prevails. On the south-east coast, including Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, the ideal travel period runs from December to August, as the rainy season ends earlier here than on the west coast.
