Croatia
Croatia is a holiday destination par excellence – with its picturesque 6000 km coastline and 1.244 islands, it can effortlessly count itself among Europe’s most beautiful and diverse landscapes. It draws many visitors year after year. Alongside its many historic sights and storied coastal towns, whose medieval centres transport visitors through time, it is above all the beaches and numerous national parks that make Croatia such a compelling place to holiday. For water sports enthusiasts, art and nature lovers, and keen hikers, the country is nothing short of a paradise.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit Croatia is between May and September. In spring (May and June) and autumn (September), temperatures are pleasantly warm – ideal for sightseeing, hiking and exploring coastal towns at a relaxed pace, away from the larger crowds. Summer (July and August) brings perfect beach weather and the height of the swimming and water sports season, although beaches and cities are often busy at this time. For active holidays and cultural discoveries, the quieter months of May, June and September are especially well suited.
