The best time to visit Costa Rica depends on your interests, as the country is appealing year-round. The rainy season (May to November), also known as the “green season”, offers lush landscapes and fewer tourists. Rain usually falls in the afternoon, while mornings are sunny. The Caribbean coast in particular is often drier at this time. Wildlife watching is possible all year round, with highlights such as turtle season from July to October.
