Singita Sasakwa

About the hotel

Singita Sasakwa Lodge is built in the style of an Edwardian manor house. Opulence and elegance, paired with a bright, airy atmosphere, make the lodge a distinctive place to stay on safari. The finishing touch is the boundless view across the Serengeti, stretching all the way to the horizon and far beyond. The lodge offers ten private cottages and one villa. Their interiors are every bit as impressive: generous bathrooms, dressing areas, fireplaces, sitting rooms and verandas with those extraordinary views. The luxurious interiors combine old-world European elegance with East African elements, creating a place unlike any other.

Kids & Teens

Children of all ages are warmly welcome at Singita Sasakwa and can enjoy specially tailored activities designed to make their time at the lodge as memorable as possible. These include board games, cooking classes, stargazing, arts and crafts, tennis, film nights and bush walks for guests aged 16 and over. The adventurous, nature-focused Mini Rangers course is the highlight for every child. Activities include tracking, astronomy, nature quizzes and bush survival skills. Hot-air balloon flights are also an unforgettable experience for children, who must be at least seven years old to take part.

Experiences & Activities

Enjoy daily game drives with exciting wildlife sightings, guided safari walks to learn more about flora and fauna, sunrise balloon flights and stargazing. Unwind in the spa or join cultural visits to the local community. Tennis, yoga and a well-equipped fitness centre are also available. Singita Sasakwa offers a wide range of activities, though sometimes all you need to do is simply take in the view. Perhaps over a fine dinner or a fabulous glass of wine, for which Singita is renowned.

Best time to travel

Grumeti Reserve in Tanzania is best visited from June to October. During this dry season, conditions are ideal for watching the great migration of wildebeest and zebra as they pass through the reserve. Temperatures are warm yet pleasant, and the clear views offer striking perspectives on the animals’ movements. These months also provide ideal safari conditions, as the sparse, low vegetation and water sources make wildlife easier to spot.

    Destination region

    Grumeti Reserve

Grumeti Reserve, a protected area in the western corridor of the Serengeti and something of a hidden gem, is known for its luxurious accommodation, breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. This exclusive and little-visited region offers families an incomparable safari experience with a perfect balance of adventure and comfort.

At Grumeti Reserve, families can enjoy thrilling safaris, observing large herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope, along with predators such as lions, leopards and cheetah in their natural habitat. Private game drives make it possible to experience the wildlife at close range, far from the usual tourist routes. For adventurous families, the reserve also offers guided walking safaris, where children can learn a great deal about the region’s flora and fauna. A particular highlight is watching the famous river crossings during the Great Migration, when thousands of animals cross the Grumeti River. In the evening, families can relax in luxurious tented suites or lodges, dine beneath the African night sky and savour the sounds of the wilderness.
