    takes you and your family to a powerful place full of inspiration: Nihi Sumba.


    During the 2026 Easter break , children will take part in creative workshops led by Nadine Schwengenbecher’s literature workshop, inspired by nature, stories, and the magic of Sumba.

    What?

    This Easter 2026, Nihi Sumba will open a creative space for children: the second Family Edutain Project.

    From March 30 to April 3, 2026, children will immerse themselves in stories, colors, nature observation, and imaginative creation, inspired by books such as“Where the Wild Things Are” and “Komodo—The Last Dragons.”
    This award-winning edutainment concept combines creativity, art, and physical activity, playfully fostering concentration, self-confidence, and team spirit while also opening a window to the world of Indonesia — to the animals, colors, and myths of Sumba.

    While the young explorers create and experiment, parents enjoy relaxing moments—from yoga under palm trees to horseback riding on the beach and culinary experiences.

    Who?

    The program is led by Nadine Schwengenbecher, founder of the “Literaturwerkstatt für Kids” and an experienced expert in creative, child-centered learning. A trained educator, she combines her artistic training at the Berlin University of the Arts with many years of practical experience both in Germany and abroad. For over two decades, she has been developing workshops that introduce children to books, stories, and their own forms of expression through all their senses—regularly as part of the renowned edutainment program at Schloss Elmau.


    As a mother of two and a sought-after creative coach, she guides the young participants on Sumba with a blend of professionalism, sensitivity, and a joy of discovery, creating a creative environment where children feel safe, inspired, and seen.
