Indonesia
Indonesia stretches largely across Asia and in small part into Australia, and with its 17,508 islands it is the largest archipelago in the world. Yet only around 6,000 of these islands are inhabited. With 54,000 km of coastline, idyllic beaches are all but guaranteed. Yet it is not only the beaches that make this country so special; tropical jungle, deep green rice terraces, partly active volcanoes, extraordinary wildlife and rich culture all capture the hearts of visitors. Countless majestic temples rise from the landscape. Hindu Bali, with its around 20.000 temples, is also known as the “Island of the Gods” or the “Island of 1000 Temples”.
Best time to travel
Indonesia is a country that fascinates in every season and promises unforgettable experiences throughout the year. The dry season from May to October is considered the best time to travel for a wide range of experiences, with perfect conditions for discovery and adventure. But the remaining months have their own special appeal too – not least for diving with majestic manta rays around the Komodo Islands, which is a particular highlight during the monsoon season. Whenever you choose to travel, Indonesia will enchant you with its diversity and beauty.
