Cambodia

Bordering Laos and Thailand to the north and Vietnam to the east, and set on the Gulf of Thailand, Cambodia is increasingly flourishing as a travel destination. Alongside its fascinating cultural treasures and the history of the former Khmer kingdom, Cambodia also offers breathtaking landscapes, untouched beaches and extraordinarily warm-hearted people. A visit to the jungle-clad temple complex of Angkor Wat is both thrilling and magical – an imposing legacy of a once-great civilisation. This magnificent Buddhist sanctuary is still regularly visited by monks today.

Best time to travel

The best time to visit Cambodia is between November and April, when the weather is dry and pleasant. During these months, the temples of Angkor and the idyllic beaches offer perfect conditions for discovery and relaxation. Those who prefer a quieter atmosphere may also enjoy the rainy season from May to October, when the landscape glows in lush green and the crowds are far thinner.
