Tanzania – Grumeti Reserve
andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge
About the hotel
andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge lies in the western Serengeti National Park, on the banks of a tributary of the Grumeti River. Its remote setting means there are very few other guests, making the safari experience intimate and exclusive. As a result, encounters with lion prides, hyena clans and other wildlife feel even more extraordinary than they already are. The lodge offers ten spacious suites with private plunge pools, luxurious bathrooms and spectacular views over the river, where hippos gather. The lodge’s design follows the curve of the river and pays homage to the circular forms of a traditional Maasai manyatta. Its riverside setting, closeness to nature, thoughtful comfort and warm hospitality make this a place guests will carry in their hearts.
Kids & Teens
Children of all ages are warmly welcome at andBeyond Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge. The WILDchild programme encourages them to explore nature and become budding young naturalists. Activities include playing volleyball with staff, making pizza, tracking animal prints, identifying a particular bird and, for older children, the “Beyond Sightings” conservation research programme. For game drives with children aged five and under, a private vehicle must be booked, and walks outside the lodge are not permitted for safety reasons. For children aged six to eleven, participation in game drives and boat trips is at the discretion of the guides.

Experience thrilling Big Five game drives, guided walks and hot-air balloon flights over the Serengeti - moments that stay with you long after you leave. Enjoy wellness treatments in your suite or sundowners by the riverbank, accompanied by the grunts of hippos. Best time to travel
Grumeti Reserve in Tanzania is best visited from June to October. During this dry season, conditions are ideal for watching the great migration of wildebeest and zebra as they pass through the reserve. Temperatures are warm yet pleasant, and the clear views offer striking perspectives on the animals’ movements. These months also provide ideal safari conditions, as the sparse, low vegetation and water sources make wildlife easier to spot.

This exclusive and little-visited region offers families an incomparable safari experience with a perfect balance of adventure and comfort.
At Grumeti Reserve, families can enjoy thrilling safaris, observing large herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope, along with predators such as lions, leopards and cheetah in their natural habitat.
