Myanmar
Myanmar impresses with a fascinating tapestry of dreamlike landscapes, colonial architecture and ancient temples. In the east, the Shan Highlands entice with rolling green hills, while in the west an idyllic archipelago awaits, only opened to tourism in 1997. Nature lovers will find peace and authenticity here. In the north, Hkakabo Razi, Southeast Asia’s highest mountain, rises into the foothills of the Himalayas, while in the south the Andaman Sea beguiles with white beaches and turquoise waters. Between them lie endless rice fields and dense rainforests, home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. A land of natural beauty and cultural richness that leaves a lasting impression on every traveller.
Best time to travel
In principle, Myanmar can be travelled throughout the year. That said, Myanmar has three distinct seasons. The dry season, with pleasantly warm temperatures, runs from mid-October through to the end of February. Myanmar’s hot summer lasts from March through to the end of May. This is followed by the humid rainy season, known as the monsoon period. It lasts from June until the end of September. Depending on the kind of holiday you are seeking in Myanmar, each of these periods can be well suited.
