The country is world-renowned for its extraordinary wildlife and ranks among the finest safari destinations on earth. Elephants in particular can be observed here to exceptional effect, as Zimbabwe is home to more than 65,000 of these majestic animals. Mana Pools and Hwange National Park are considered true insider’s gems. Another highlight is the world-famous Victoria Falls, part of which lies in Zimbabwe and which unquestionably deserves a place on every travel wish list. Alongside these natural wonders, modern cities beckon with compelling sights of their own.
Best time to travel
Ideally, a journey to Zimbabwe should take place between May and October, when the dry season prevails. During the rainy season from November to March, daily showers are to be expected. Those who do not mind this, however, are rewarded with the chance to see usually dry landscapes transformed into rich shades of green.
