Mozambique
Deserted, miles-long white-sand beaches, small islands and unspoilt wilderness define Mozambique – a truly exceptional destination with character and charm all its own. This country in south-east Africa has a deeply moving history. After Africa’s longest colonial occupation, this unspoilt paradise on the Indian Ocean now shines through its marine life, remarkable biodiversity and an intriguing cultural blend – from Zulu heritage to Portuguese and Arab influences still visible today in its cuisine and architecture.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit Mozambique is during the dry winter months from April to October. During this time, temperatures are pleasantly warm and rainfall is minimal, making it ideal for both beach escapes and safari holidays. The skies are clear and the sea is calm, creating excellent conditions for diving and snorkelling. The second-best travel period is from November to March, although rain and occasional tropical storms should be expected. However, those who wish to enjoy the lush tropical vegetation and a quieter, less touristed atmosphere will still find many beautiful travel days during this time.
