St. Barth
The hotspot of the Caribbean is, and remains, the exclusive island of St. Barthélemy — known simply as St. Barth. Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493 and named after his brother Bartolomeo, this French-speaking island is now best known for its powder-soft beaches and designer boutiques. With an area of around 21 square kilometres, St. Barth is a small island, yet it offers a wealth of idyllic beaches and a sea that shimmers in the most beautiful shades of blue. This draws celebrities from around the world, along with guests who value peace, unspoilt nature, luxury and elegance. Little wonder — with an average of 300 days of sunshine each year!
Best time to travel
The dry season on the island runs from December to May. The rainy season usually begins in July and ends in November. Due to St. Barth’s position within the hurricane belt, September and October are less recommended for travel, as the likelihood of a hurricane is highest then.
