Capella Ubud
Indonesia – Ubud
Capella Ubud
About the hotel
Hidden within Bali’s lush rainforest, Capella Ubud offers an incomparable glamping experience. With 22 luxurious tents and a two-storey lodge, this resort combines modern comfort with traditional Balinese culture. The tents are elegantly appointed and feature private swimming pools as well as generous terraces overlooking rice fields or the surrounding rainforest. Guests enjoy exceptional amenities including two restaurants, a luxurious spa and bespoke experiences that reflect the nature and culture of Bali.
Kids & Teens
Due to the nature of the terrain, children must be at least 6 years old to stay at Capella Ubud. The setting and design of the camp create a compelling blend of adventure and cocooning comfort in the heart of nature. A special highlight awaits little explorers in the evening: at the marshmallow station, children can (under parental supervision) roast their own marshmallows over the crackling campfire while the starlit sky glows above the rainforest. Babysitting services can be arranged for younger children, allowing parents to savour the resort’s enchanting atmosphere and deep sense of relaxation in peace.
Experiences & Activities
Explore the surroundings on guided walks through emerald-green rice fields or dense jungle, let the Capella Camp Ranger reveal the beauty of the landscape with its plants and temples, or experience the extraordinary natural setting by mountain bike. After a day of discovery, complete relaxation awaits: in one of the camp’s three spa tents, traditional Balinese healing treatments restore body and mind, before the evening invites nostalgic black-and-white films about 1800s Bali by the campfire and the tranquil atmosphere of the forest. Culinary experiences at Capella Ubud are equally elevated: enjoy authentic Indonesian and international dishes throughout the day with views over the lush rainforest, or savour intimate Asian omakase experiences before ending the day in the resort bar, where refreshing snacks and cocktails are crafted by hand using traditional techniques.

Capella Ubud
in our eyes
Capella Ubud is an extraordinary tented resort whose imaginative design evokes the glamour of another era. Bill Bensley’s striking architecture blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, creating an atmosphere of rare calm and elegance. Nestled between rainforest and rice fields, the resort offers not only a dreamlike setting but also impeccable service and tailored experiences that make every stay unforgettable. A treat for children: after dinner, marshmallows can be toasted over the open fire – under caring supervision, of course.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit Ubud in Bali is from May to September. These months coincide with the dry season, offering ideal conditions for exploring the cultural and natural treasures of the region. Temperatures are warm and steady, while rainfall is minimal. This is an especially good time to visit the famous rice fields, such as those in Tegallalang, and to explore the many temples and art galleries Ubud has to offer. Clear days also make jungle walks and visits to picturesque waterfalls such as Tegenungan especially enjoyable.
