About the hotel

Amankila, a true paradise on Bali’s peaceful east coast, rises majestically on a lush hillside, framed by sacred Mount Agung and commanding spectacular views across the shimmering Lombok Strait. Its 31 suites, 12 of them with private pools, stand on stilts amid verdant vegetation and offer not only exceptional comfort and privacy, but also glorious ocean views. Each suite is a retreat of timeless elegance, surrounded by tropical greenery and infused with Balinese charm. At the heart of the resort lies a striking three-tier infinity pool, while a path leads from the elegant Beach Club down to a private black-sand beach. Several exquisite restaurants await, where local and international flavours are celebrated with flair. In the luxurious spa, body and mind find calm through traditional Balinese treatments.

Amankila offers children a wealth of activities, opening up a world of adventure through exciting snorkelling trips and boat rides, as well as captivating visits to nearby traditional villages where Bali’s culture comes vividly to life. On the private beach, children can play undisturbed in the fine black sand, build sandcastles and enjoy the tropical surroundings. The dishes served are also thoughtfully tailored to younger guests.

Best time to travel

The best time to visit Manggis, a peaceful village on Bali’s east coast, is from May to September. This dry season brings ideal weather for discovering the natural beauty of the region. Temperatures are warm and pleasant, while rainfall is low, making it especially enjoyable to explore the surrounding rice fields, beaches and temples. Manggis is an excellent base for excursions to the nearby temples of Tenganan and Pura Besakih, Bali’s Mother Temple. Clear days are ideal for boat trips to nearby Nusa Penida and for snorkelling or diving in crystal-clear waters.
