The best time to visit Taupo is between November and April. During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm, ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, boat trips and visits to the hot springs. Summer (December to Februaryy) is especially well suited to watersports on Lake Taupo.
Spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) bring mild temperatures and fewer crowds, making them ideal for relaxed exploration and walking. Winter (June to August) is cool, but offers a quieter atmosphere and the opportunity to visit the nearby ski fields.

Huka Lodge can be reached from Germany via an international flight to Auckland, followed by a domestic flight to Taupo. From Taupo, the lodge is around 15 minutes away by car.
