Best time to travel

The best time to visit Queensland is between May and October. During these months, the weather is pleasantly dry with mild temperatures, ideal for outdoor pursuits such as hiking, snorkelling and sightseeing. The winter months from June to August are especially well suited to exploring the beautiful beaches, the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforests without the intense heat of summer.

From November to April, Queensland is hotter and more humid, as this is the rainy and cyclone season. Even so, travellers can still enjoy the vibrant natural world and tropical atmosphere during this period, particularly in the more northerly regions.
