Best time to travel
The best time to visit Ecuador’s Chocó Rainforest is between June and October. These months bring less rainfall than the rest of the year, creating better conditions for hiking and wildlife encounters. The Chocó Rainforest is one of the most species-rich places in the world, and during the drier season many animals are easier to spot.
That said, the Chocó Rainforest reMayns humid year-round, with rain falling throughout the year, so visits from November to May are also possible. At this time, rainfall is heavier, but the lush natural world is at its most vibrant, and fuller rivers make boat trips especially rewarding.
