The tented lodge is a wonderful place that warmly welcomes children and promises them an unforgettable holiday. The Junior Ranger programme is led by a ranger. They teach children all about the animals and how to protect them. They also learn how to set up a campsite, pitch a tent, build a campfire and much more. In the Junior Chef programme, children can develop their culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs. Family-friendly activities such as guided nature walks are also available, allowing everyone to discover the surroundings together.

Best time to travel
The best time to visit Yala National Park in Sri Lanka is between Februaryy and June. During these dry months, many animals gather around the waterholes, making each safari especially memorable. The national park is particularly renowned for its leopard population – one of the best places in the world to see these fascinating animals in the wild.
Januaryy is also dry, although the vegetation is still denser, which can make wildlife sightings a little more challenging. Even so, the park offers spectacular landscapes and unforgettable safari moments at this time too.
Between July and December, the rainy season sets in (especially in October and November), bringing more frequent rainfall. Some parts of the park may be closed during this period, but after the rains the landscape is lush, vibrant and full of life. For travellers seeking peace and quiet, this period still offers a very special experience.

After arriving at Colombo airport, you have the option of taking a 45-minute domestic flight to Hambantota. From there, the lodge is just an hour away by car. Alternatively, you can travel directly from Colombo airport to the lodge by road in around six hours.
