Uga Chena Huts
in our eyes
Uga Chena Huts offers an incomparable safari experience on Sri Lanka’s coast, where Yala National Park meets the Indian Ocean. The luxurious thatched huts offer complete privacy and breathtaking views over the surrounding wilderness. It is a place where wildlife encounters and relaxation come together effortlessly. Uga Chena Huts is ideal for families, pairing adventure with restorative calm. A truly special retreat for nature lovers.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit Yala National Park in Sri Lanka is between Februaryy and June. During these dry months, many animals gather around the waterholes, making each safari especially memorable. The national park is particularly renowned for its leopard population – one of the best places in the world to see these fascinating animals in the wild.
Januaryy is also dry, although the vegetation is still denser, which can make wildlife sightings a little more challenging. Even so, the park offers spectacular landscapes and unforgettable safari moments at this time too.
Between July and December, the rainy season sets in (especially in October and November), bringing more frequent rainfall. Some parts of the park may be closed during this period, but after the rains the landscape is lush, vibrant and full of life. For travellers seeking peace and quiet, this period still offers a very special experience.
