Best time to travel
The best time to stay in Haputale is from December to March – when the weather is typically dry and clear, with pleasant temperatures of around 20–25 °C. Perfect for walks, sightseeing and sweeping views across the tea gardens. July to September is also a good time to visit, as the highlands are often sunnier than the coast during these months. The shoulder months of April, May and October can bring occasional rain, though this leaves the landscape looking especially fresh and green. Thanks to its altitude, the climate reMayns mild throughout the year – with cool nights and fresh, mist-laden mornings that make a stay here especially restorative.
