Best time to travel

The best time to visit Galle on Sri Lanka’s south coast is from December to April. During this dry season, sunny weather and warm temperatures create ideal conditions for families wishing to relax on golden beaches or explore the historic sights of Galle Fort. It is also the perfect time for activities such as snorkelling, boat trips or whale watching.

From May to November, the southwest monsoon brings more frequent rainfall, which can limit beach days. Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo is around 150 km from Amangalla, approximately 2.5 hours by road. Domestic flights land at Koggala Airport, which is around 30 minutes away by car.
