Seaside Finolhu
Maldives – Baa Atoll
Seaside Finolhu
About the hotel
The one-of-a-kind Seaside Finolhu is set within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll. Crystal-clear waters, a dreamlike two-kilometre stretch of white sandbank and a vibrant underwater world rich in marine life are just three of this extraordinary island's many highlights. To help preserve it, Seaside Finolhu is deeply committed to environmental protection and sustainability, while also embracing its social responsibility to the local community. For an authentic encounter, guests can join a tour to discover local life and culture firsthand. Authentic is also how the resort describes the luxury it offers. Spacious beach and overwater villas, barefoot walks in the sand, generous open spaces, delights served in the restaurants, warm hospitality and a broad choice of activities combine to create a truly luxurious escape. Opened in June 2016, the resort shines in retro-chic style with an abundance of natural materials. From the moment you arrive by seaplane, you are warmly welcomed at the jetty by the Seaside Finolhu team. And that is where a dream holiday begins.
Kids & Teens
At Seaside Finolhu, children are known as "Oceaneers", which is how the Oceaneers Club got its name. At this kids' club, fun and entertainment are a promise. Through play, crafts, baking and excursions, not only children but teenagers too can explore their creativity. A weekly programme includes excursions such as "Garden Visit & Island Tour" and a "Turtle Adventure with our Marine Biologist". If a child celebrates a birthday during their stay, it is marked in style and turned into an unforgettable occasion. Captain Fin and the mermaid Lhu Lhu bring entertainment and a wonderfully spirited day.
Experiences & Activities
Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing and catamaran sailing are just some of the non-motorised water sports on offer. If you are after more speed, Seaside Finolhu also offers jet skis, speedboat trips and the X-Jet-Blade, which lets you soar above the water on a rush of adrenaline. You can also discover the fascinating underwater world of Baa Atoll on snorkelling and diving excursions. Restore your sense of balance with spa treatments or unwind in the steam room. Across four restaurants, you can dine as the mood takes you and sample flavours from around the world.

Seaside Finolhu
in our eyes
Finolhu means "sandbank" - an invitation to arrive, slip off your shoes and wander barefoot along the shore. In this atmosphere of warmth and ease, it is impossible not to relax and leave the everyday behind. The private villas offer a perfect retreat for those seeking peace, with the added chance to get creative in the resort's own atelier. Active travellers will be spoilt for choice with the wide range of (thrilling) water sports on offer. Particularly worth noting is the exceptional service from the entire Finolhu team, which makes every stay feel truly special.
Best time to travel
The months from June to November are the best time to witness the extraordinary spectacle of manta rays and whale sharks in Hanifaru Bay. July to September in particular sees large numbers gathering in the bay to mate and feed. It is worth noting, however, that the monsoon season runs from May to October, bringing the possibility of brief showers. This does not, however, detract from a diving excursion.
For those who prefer drier days and lower humidity, the months from November to April offer the best conditions for relaxation, watersports and sun-filled beach time. At this time, the sea is calm and the water crystal clear, making it the ideal period for a restorative beach escape
