Como Cocoa
Maldives – South Malé Atoll
Como Cocoa
About the hotel
COMO Cocoa Island lies in the South Malé Atoll of the Maldives. Thanks to its house reef, the island's diving is considered among the best in the world. Turtles, sharks and vibrant coral reefs set snorkellers' hearts racing. The overwater suites follow a gently curving wooden jetty and are inspired by dhonis, the traditional local boats crafted from natural timber. The roofs are finished in kajan thatch, lending a sense of ease, escape and arrival. The warm, crystal-clear water stretches seemingly endlessly across the lagoon, creating a truly idyllic backdrop. The COMO Shambhala Retreat on site is devoted entirely to the renewal of body and soul. As a tribute to nature, the restaurant serves exciting, healthful combinations of seafood and organically grown vegetables, layered with Mediterranean and Indian flavours.
Kids & Teens
COMO Cocoa Island does not have a kids' club, but children are warmly welcomed. Playing on the beach, splashing in the pool, exploring the island or sleeping aboard boats on the ocean all help make the holiday exciting for every child. There are also experiences for the whole family, such as coral propagation and cooking classes. If a more structured programme is preferred, a combination with sister resort COMO Maalifushi is ideal, where the Play by COMO Space welcomes children aged four to twelve. Babysitters can be arranged on request.
Experiences & Activities
Discover the underwater world on guided diving and snorkelling excursions, unwind at the COMO Shambhala Retreat with yoga and wellness, pick up the pace with windsurfing and paddleboarding, and enjoy culinary delights at Ufaa restaurant. Here, you can savour contemporary interpretations of Indian and Mediterranean cuisine. These dishes can be enjoyed in a truly special setting - perhaps over breakfast on a sandbank or during a romantic evening by the beach.

Como Cocoa
in our eyes
COMO Cocoa enchants with overwater villas designed like elegant boats, creating a tropical atmosphere unlike anywhere else. The generous terraces offer direct access to the turquoise sea while still ensuring ample privacy and seclusion for sun-soaked moments, daydreaming and time together as a family. Even without a kids' club, this small, enchanting island is highly appealing for families, especially when paired with its sister island COMO Maalifushi, which offers additional facilities such as a kids' club. If snorkelling, feeling the sand between your toes and simply unwinding is what you long for, COMO Cocoa Island awaits your stay.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit South Malé Atoll in the Maldives is between December and April. During this period, it is the dry season, so you can expect sunny weather, little rain and calm seas – ideal for activities such as snorkelling and diving.
Majestic manta rays and whale sharks are best seen from May to November, when they move into this region to feed and mate. Other exotic marine life, including reef sharks, turtles and brightly coloured reef fish, can be seen year-round, especially in the clear waters of the dry season.
