Deplar Farm
About the hotel
Deplar Farm sits in the secluded Fljót Valley on the mountainous Troll Peninsula. This is a place of true remoteness, with little company beyond the surrounding wildlife. It is, in other words, a perfect retreat for families longing for peace, authenticity and nature. This former 15th-century sheep farm, with its black timber cladding and turf roof, blends beautifully into the dramatic natural surroundings. Whether in summer or winter, the farm is an exceptional base for countless adventures. And with scarcely any artificial light, you may witness one of the world’s most spectacular natural displays here: the Northern Lights.
Kids & Teens
Children are warmly welcomed at Deplar Farm. Despite its remote setting, it is perfectly suited to a family journey. There is a wonderful range of activities and excursions to delight every age. These include whale watching, snowmobiling and astronomy tours. At the lodge, children can watch films in the media room or enjoy a game of table football.
Experiences & Activities
Whether in summer or winter, the farm offers a wide variety of seasonal experiences. From heliskiing and snowmobile adventures in winter to hiking, fishing and kayaking in summer. After a day of adventure, unwind in the hot tubs or sauna before spending some time making music in the band loft.
