Best time to travel
The Riviera Maya in Mexico is a true paradise for travellers from November to April. During these months, mild temperatures, little rain and comfortable humidity create ideal conditions for relaxed beach days, excursions to Maya ruins such as Chichén Itzá or Tulum, and activities including snorkelling and diving in the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The dry season ensures the region is at its most beautiful and allows for outdoor activities without restriction.
May and June, also considered good travel months, reMayn warm and sunny, although occasional showers can occur. These months are particularly well suited to travellers who would like to experience the Riviera Maya outside the peak season. October also brings pleasant temperatures, though with slightly higher humidity.
July, August and September mark the rainy season, with more frequent rainfall and higher humidity, yet even in these months the Riviera Maya impresses with lush vegetation and a peaceful atmosphere.

Riviera Maya
The Riviera Maya, on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, stretches for more than 100 kilometres from Puerto Morelos to Tulum. This region is known for its breathtaking beaches, fascinating Maya ruins and lively towns such as Playa del Carmen. The Riviera Maya offers a perfect blend of culture, adventure and relaxation, ideal for families and adventurous travellers alike.
Playa del Carmen and Tulum are ideal places to unwind by the sea. In Playa del Carmen, families can enjoy a range of watersports, while Tulum is known for its laid-back beaches and impressive Maya ruins. Another highlight is snorkelling and diving in the many cenotes, the region’s natural limestone sinkholes scattered throughout the landscape. A visit to Xcaret and Xel-Há, two of the region’s best-known eco-parks, offers a wide array of outdoor activities such as swimming, snorkelling and zip lines. For wildlife lovers, Akumal – known as the “place of the turtles” – is an essential stop, where you can swim alongside sea turtles.
