Our tip for families (with children over 10 years old) looking for something truly extraordinary: at Four Seasons Camp, you can encounter gentle, rescued elephants up close. Set on a mountain ridge in the Golden Triangle, the camp offers remarkable views across Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. Surrounded by bamboo forests and lush gardens, it is a true oasis of calm. At the same time, it is the perfect base from which to discover the traditions and cultures of northern Thailand through visits to hill tribe villages.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit Chiang Rai is from November to Februaryy. These months fall within the dry season, when the weather is pleasantly cool and dry, making it ideal for exploring the region. Temperatures are pleasantly mild, and low rainfall allows for relaxed visits to famous temples such as Wat Rong Khun (the White Temple) and Wat Phra Kaew.
