Best time to travel
The most pleasant time to visit Shanghai is in spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November). During these months, temperatures are mild and rainfall is lower – ideal for city sightseeing, walks along the Bund or excursions to nearby water towns. Summer can be very hot and humid, with temperatures above 35°C, while winter is cool and at times windy. Those who prefer pleasant weather, clear views and a more relaxed travel experience should therefore choose the shoulder seasons.
