Tswalu The Motse
in our eyes
A stay at Tswalu is, without question, one of the most special experiences a family can share. Discovering the Kalahari in all its fascination is a true highlight. Even the approach by plane is a unique experience in itself. While this is not a classic Big Five experience, Tswalu reveals Africa’s beauty in a remarkably special and exclusive way - in this vast reserve, encountering another safari vehicle is almost impossible.
Best time to travel
The best time to visit the Kalahari is shortly after the rainy season, from March to May, as well as from September to November. In spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), temperatures are milder and conditions are ideal for desert safaris. These months bring pleasant temperatures, less dust and the chance to fully appreciate the flora and fauna of the Kalahari.
That said, even the hot summer months (December to Februaryy) are well worth considering for a visit. After the long dry season, the region stirs back to life with the first rains. The landscape turns green once more and countless plants begin to bloom.
