Singita Sweni

South Africa – Kruger National Park

timeless elegance | wild nature | exclusive safari experience

Singita Sweni

About the hotel

Singita, meaning "place of miracles", is inspired by a philosophy of living life in balance. Singita Sweni Lodge is set within Kruger National Park, near South Africa’s border with Mozambique, in a private 33,000-hectare concession. Beautifully surrounded by hundreds of trees, it rests on the banks of the Sweni River. Its close proximity to the river allows guests to observe wildlife at remarkable closeness as animals wander down to the banks to drink or wallow. The seven suites are also tucked beneath shady trees. The open-plan interiors frame uninterrupted views of nature, heightening the sense of freedom throughout.

Kids & Teens

Children of all ages are warmly welcomed at the lodge. All activities can be tailored to the interests and wishes of each family. These include cooking classes, board games, bush walks (minimum age 16), creative workshops, and the Mini Rangers course, to name just a few. The Mini Rangers course includes activities such as wildlife encounters, bush survival skills, and stargazing. For safety reasons, children’s participation in any game activities is at the guide’s discretion.

Experiences & Activities

At Singita Sweni, step into a world of adventure and luxury: enjoy thrilling safaris at sunrise and encounter South Africa’s majestic wildlife up close. Afterwards, unwind with a first-class spa treatment or savour the lodge’s culinary creations. Particularly unforgettable are the walking safaris, where you explore the landscape on foot, and the birdwatching along the picturesque Sweni River. As evening falls, crystal-clear starry skies and inviting campfires create the perfect setting to linger a little longer.

Best time to travel

The best time to visit Kruger National Park is from May to October, when the dry season makes wildlife sightings easier. During these months, the vegetation is sparse and many animals gather around the reMayning water sources, making wildlife viewing especially rewarding. Temperatures are pleasantly warm during the day, while nights can be rather cool. Clear skies and dry air create perfect conditions for exploring the park’s remarkable wildlife and expansive landscapes.

    Destination region

    Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest nature and wildlife reserve, impresses with its extraordinary biodiversity and sweeping landscapes. The park is home to 147 mammal species, as well as more than 500 bird species, 114 reptiles, 49 fish and 34 amphibians.

This iconic park offers families an ideal blend of adventure, nature and relaxation. Game drives in open safari vehicles allow for thrilling encounters with the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhino – along with many other wild animals. Guided bush walks also offer fascinating insight into the park’s flora and fauna, allowing visitors to experience the natural world at close quarters. Especially popular is the Juneor Ranger programme, which introduces children to wildlife and conservation in an engaging, playful way. After an exhilarating day, families can unwind in comfortable lodges or camps, savour a traditional braai (barbecue) and gaze up at the African night sky.
