On the edge of a shaded forest in the north of Phinda Private Game Reserve lies Phinda Homestead, a spacious safari villa for exclusive use, complete with a private ranger, tracker, butler and chef. Seamlessly integrated into its natural surroundings and designed as a contemporary bush farmhouse, Phinda Homestead is an elegant yet welcoming-use villa, ideal for families and small groups of friends. Four private bedrooms and spacious bathrooms flow harmoniously into the cool, expansive and inviting guest spaces. An interactive kitchen places the lodge’s private chef at the heart of the guest experience, while a fully equipped private gym and spa offer moments of restoration between safaris. Game drive schedules and mealtimes are tailored entirely to guests’ wishes, creating a deeply personal safari experience. Phinda Private Game Reserve spans an impressive 28,555 hectares of protected wildlife habitat in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The reserve offers one of the continent’s finest wildlife-viewing experiences and is home to Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), as well as 436 bird species.

The best time to visit KwaZulu-Natal is from May to September, during the dry season with mild, sunny weather – ideal for safaris and outdoor adventures. October to April is equally appealing, with warm temperatures and occasional rain, perfect for beach stays and flourishing landscapes. All year round, the region offers exceptional experiences from safari to coast.
