Best time to travel

The best time to visit Costa Rica’s Alajuela province is from December to April, when sunny, dry weather creates perfect conditions for outdoor adventure. During these months, the region is at its most radiant, inviting visitors to explore majestic Arenal Volcano, walk through the rainforest or unwind in soothing hot springs. For adventure seekers, there are also plenty of options such as zip-lining and rafting, made all the more enjoyable by the clear weather.

From May to November, the rainy season begins, transforming Costa Rica into a lush green paradise. Despite the frequent showers, these months offer a quieter atmosphere, ideal for travellers seeking nature-rich experiences away from the high season. Lush vegetation, waterfalls in full flow and a unique array of wildlife make this season equally special. Alajuela offers unforgettable impressions throughout the year, with both dry and rainy seasons bringing their own distinct charm.
