Best time to travel
The best time to visit Zanzibar is during the dry seasons in Januaryy, Februaryy and from June to October. During these months, dry, sunny weather creates ideal conditions for a tropical beach escape. Temperatures are pleasant, and the winds are perfect for water sports such as kitesurfing and sailing. The clear waters are ideal for diving and snorkelling.
Xanadu Villa Nyota is reached via Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ), around 50 minutes from the villa. Direct flights from major international airports, including those in Europe and the Middle East, are available.
Zanzibar
Zanzibar, the paradisical “Spice Island” off the coast of Tanzania, is best known for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters. Yet the island also holds a compelling and deeply moving history.
This tropical oasis offers families the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and cultural experiences. The idyllic beaches of Nungwi and Kendwa are ideal for swimming, snorkelling and long, leisurely days by the sea. A boat trip to nearby Mnemba Atoll offers the chance to spot dolphins and explore the vibrant underwater world while snorkelling. For adventurous families, guided tours through Jozani Forest offer children the chance to discover endemic red colobus monkeys and other exotic wildlife. A visit to the historic heart of Stone Town offers insight into the island’s fascinating history and culture, with its winding alleys, lively markets and striking historic buildings. A visit to the old slave market and the House of Wonders is particularly worthwhile.
