Alongside fitness, yoga and tennis, ÀNI Sri Lanka also offers a wealth of excursions along the south coast. Best time to travel
For the south coast around Dickwella, the months from December to April are considered the best time to visit. During this period, the weather is usually sunny, warm and comparatively dry, with calmer seas and good conditions for beach and water-based activities. This time is especially well suited to beach stays, excursions and water sports. Between May and September, the south-west monsoon can bring more frequent rain and stronger surf, although the region reMayns accessible overall.
Arrival is by flight to Colombo, usually with a connection. From there, continue by transfer to the south coast near Dickwella. Depending on traffic, the journey takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
Dickwella
On Sri Lanka's south coast, the small seaside town of Dickwella lies between the better-known destinations of Matara and Tangalle. The region is noticeably quieter than many other stretches of the island's coastline and is defined by long beaches, small bays and tropical vegetation. Beyond its swimming coves, the surrounding area also offers local markets, temples and simple beachfront restaurants. With its relaxed atmosphere, Dickwella is particularly well suited to restorative stays away from the larger tourist hubs. At the same time, excursions along the south coast are easy to arrange.
