Best time to travel
The most pleasant months are from December to April, when warm, sunny weather and a low chance of rain prevail. At this time, both beach days and outdoor activities can be enjoyed to the fullest. From Januaryy to March, a visit is especially rewarding for whale watching off the coast. During the rainy season from May to November, short showers are more frequent, which can somewhat limit outdoor activities.
Arrival is by flight to Puerto Plata or Santo Domingo, usually with a connection. From there, a transfer continues on to Cabrera. Depending on the airport, the journey time is approximately 1.5 to 3 hours.
Cabrera
On the north coast of the Dominican Republic lies the town of Cabrera, nestled between rolling hills, bays and beaches. Quiet beaches and tropical nature make the region ideal for guests seeking rest and privacy. Alongside its natural beauty, Cabrera also offers small towns with local restaurants and markets. For more active travellers, there are opportunities for hiking, horse riding and water sports. Cultural excursions — to Puerto Plata or Sosúa, for example — can easily be woven into a stay here.
