Different facets of Southern Africa - a travel report by Kilian Stadlhuber

Africa has many faces - and we wanted to discover all of them on this trip. South Africa and Mozambique both offer an impressive variety of experiences that complement each other perfectly. While South Africa fascinates with its diverse landscapes, vibrant cities and the famous Big Five, Mozambique attracts visitors with its beautiful coastlines, deserted islands and fantastic underwater world. Our round trip took us from the lively coastal city of Cape Town across the vast plains of the Kalahari, through the untouched wilderness of the Timbavati to the tropical tranquillity of Benguerra Island. A real best-of experience for anyone who wants to discover southern Africa in all its facets.

Art, wine and relaxation at Ellerman House in Cape Town

Our trip began in Cape Town, where we stayed at Ellerman House. The hotel is located in exclusive Bantry Bay and offers a perfect blend of proximity to the city's highlights and the luxury of retreat in complete privacy. From here we had a wonderful view of the bay. The convenient location close to attractions such as the V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay and Table Mountain made exploring the area very easy.

Ellerman House is not only a hotel, but also houses one of South Africa's most important private art collections. The art was omnipresent and the staff offered us tailor-made excursions to explore Cape Town's cultural highlights and the surrounding area. We visited both the Cape of Good Hope and the beautiful Winelands.

For families, the private Villa One is a real highlight - it offers plenty of space and comfort, making it ideal for larger groups, which is unique in a city like Cape Town.

Benguerra Island - A tropical island paradise in Mozambique

Our last stop was Benguerra Island in Mozambique. We took a direct flight from Kruger National Park to Vilanculos and then a helicopter to the island. An incredibly beautiful experience! The island is part of a protected marine national park and is surrounded by crystal-clear water, endless white sandy beaches and breathtaking coral reefs.

Snorkeling and diving in the Bazaruto archipelago is an unforgettable experience - the underwater world with its colourful fish and coral reefs is simply spectacular! In addition to water sports and exploring the island, we also indulged in some wellness and tried out deep-sea fishing. The island offered us the perfect opportunity to switch off after the intensive safaris and simply enjoy the peace and quiet - far away from everyday life.

We particularly liked two places on Benguerra: Azura Bengurerra and Kisawa Sanctuary. The villas at Azura Benguerra are very naturally designed and blend harmoniously into the tropical surroundings. The service is excellent and very personal, and there are numerous opportunities to explore the island and the surrounding sea.

For families looking for something special, we recommend Kisawa as the crowning glory of an unforgettable journey through Southern Africa - a brand new and ultra-luxurious all-inclusive villa resort that will satisfy even the most discerning of tastes.

Africa has enchanted me and is waiting for you too - we plan extraordinary, family-friendly round trips that will inspire you and touch your soul.
