About the cruise ship
Le Commandant Charcot is a groundbreaking expedition ship from the renowned French cruise line PONANT, created especially for luxurious polar travel. As the world’s first luxury icebreaker with hybrid propulsion, she combines liquefied natural gas (LNG) and electric batteries to enable environmentally conscious expeditions to the most remote regions of the Arctic and Antarctic. At 150 metres in length, the ship accommodates up to 270 passengers in 135 luxurious cabins and suites, each with a private balcony. Facilities include two first-class restaurants, a spa, a fitness centre and a heated outdoor pool.

After arriving in Oslo, you are transferred to embarkation on Le Commandant Charcot. On board, you are welcomed and enjoy your first dinner as well as an introduction to the journey ahead.

After returning to Oslo, disembarkation follows. You still have time for a stroll through the city or a final visit to the sights before being transferred to the airport or continuing your onward journey independently.
