At The Family Project, we believe in a form of luxury that makes an impact. Our vision goes beyond just a vacation: we curate experiences that resonate - and at their best, make a positive impact.
That's why today we would like to introduce the Sumba Foundation ofNIHI Sumba: a place that embodies our values like no other.

"Their land. A shared future."

With this guiding principle, the Sumba Foundation has been working to sustainably improve the quality of life on the Indonesian island of Sumba ever since it was founded. What once began as a small aid project has developed into a broad-based initiative that reaches thousands of people. The Foundation is involved in the areas of health, education, clean water and economic development with the aim of strengthening the community in the long term.

Thanks to the programs, the malaria rate in the pilot regions has been significantly reduced. More than 485,000 people have gained access to medical care and over 23,000 children benefit from school meal programs. The Sumba Hospitality Foundation complements this work with practical training in the hotel industry, which opens up career prospects for young people.

On the edge of the wilderness...

Sumba is one of those places that just won't let you go. Maybe it's the wild beauty of the island, maybe it's the people - or maybe it's the fact that you can feel how much good can be done here when everyone pulls together. The Sumba Foundation shows how much change is possible through small steps and that luxury can also mean giving something back.
