At The Family Project, we believe in a form of luxury that makes an impact. Our vision goes beyond just a vacation: we curate experiences that resonate - and at their best, make a positive impact.
That's why today we would like to introduce the Sumba Foundation ofNIHI Sumba: a place that embodies our values like no other.
Thanks to the programs, the malaria rate in the pilot regions has been significantly reduced. More than 485,000 people have gained access to medical care and over 23,000 children benefit from school meal programs. The Sumba Hospitality Foundation complements this work with practical training in the hotel industry, which opens up career prospects for young people.
Sumba is one of those places that just won't let you go. Maybe it's the wild beauty of the island, maybe it's the people - or maybe it's the fact that you can feel how much good can be done here when everyone pulls together. The Sumba Foundation shows how much change is possible through small steps and that luxury can also mean giving something back. NIHI Sumba creates moments that will be remembered for a long time because they make sense, touch and inspire.
In the end, you take away more than just fond memories: the feeling of having been part of something good.
In FAMILY ESCAPES, we talk to Chris Burch about the vision and work of the Sumba Foundation - a conversation that gives an insight behind the scenes.
