Costa Rica & Panama - Of jungle wonders, wild waves and fascinating waterways. A travelogue by Katrin Sepmeier

Our trip through Costa Rica and Panama was an unforgettable adventure - full of nature, wild animals, adrenaline and relaxed moments. As different as the places were, they all had one thing in common: the feeling of really being in the moment and always being rewarded with new surprises.

Osa Peninsula - Lapa Rios: where the rainforest meets the ocean

We felt it as soon as we arrived on the Osa Peninsula: This place is special. Lapa Rios, our lodge for three nights, is a place full of heart and attention to detail. In the morning, coffee and hot chocolate were brought directly to the villa - a little ritual that got the day off to a perfect start.

What fascinated us so much here? The wildlife seemed to live right here with us. Parrots flew through the breakfast room, capuchin monkeys gambolled through the trees, iguanas sunbathed beside the path - all without us having to leave the lodge area. Nevertheless, exciting excursions into the jungle beckoned: a jungle tour where we learned an incredible amount about plants and animals, and an adventure where we climbed down four waterfalls - sweat, passion and a huge sense of pride included.

And then this view: Jungle on one side, sea on the other. We were able to watch whales and dolphins, relax in the pool or end the evening on the terrace with a dream backdrop. It's clear: Lapa Rios is one of those places where you want to stay.

A journey that touched us on all levels

From wild rainforests and action-packed adventures to relaxing days by the sea and fascinating wonders of the world - this trip was colorful, loud, quiet, wild and beautiful all at the same time.

If you love nature, animals, water and cultural highlights, then this combination is an absolute dream. We can only recommend everyone to embrace the unknown and give every single stop the time it deserves.
